Enterprise Risk Management
ERM is a risk management approach that not only looks at minimizing organizational risks, but it also accounts for new business opportunities that could be positive risks. Risk is an indeterminate factor that usually occurs in the future. ERM is an approach to risk management that takes into consideration all aspects related to risk within organizations and oversees them under one umbrella. Traditionally, companies managed risk separately in each division/department/or unit, whereas with ERM, companies implement an integrated approach to risk at all organizational levels. ERM could be an effective managerial approach to decision-making about organizational risks (See research publications for more information on ERM - Go to "Members Only" tab).
Everyday, guest teachers walk into a new classroom faced with the unknown. They are unaware of what they will face that day. For example, they could face students willing to listen and work, or face a classroom that is hostile. Guest teachers have therefore, the ultimate responsibility to own various tricks and tools to help them effectively manage a classroom.
Organizational planning is a strategy to develop immediate or long-term goals needed to achieve desirable and sustainable success. Planning is vital in management simply because it allows managers to be more resourceful and better prepared for the unexpected.
